Children are generally taught in one class with children from the same year group. Within this class all pupils are taught individually, as a group, or a whole class but always according to their needs and abilities. Teachers work well together to make sure that there is continuity and progression as the children move through the school.

We are also fortunate to have an excellent team of teaching assistants who work with smaller groups of children to achieve higher standards. Although all classes have the benefit of teaching assistants, the younger classes receive the greater amount of support.

All children between the ages of 5 and 11 study the National Curriculum and the school has incorporated this into its own curriculum, which we deem relevant for the children that we have in our care. The Reception children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. This underpins all future learning by supporting, fostering and promoting children’s development. In years 1 and 2 the children follow the Key Stage 1 Programme of Study and Y3 to Y6 follow the Key Stage 2 Programme of Study.
