Thank you for all of you who took the time to complete our Parent Survey. We had responses from 39 different parents, which concerned 44 children.
Some of the areas we are doing well:
95% thought the school keeps their child safe
100% thought their child was taught well
100% thought their child made good progress in school
The changes we are currently proposing - Out of School Clubs and online payments - seem to be really popular so watch this space.
Areas for Development:
There are some people who feel that we have not responded well enough to concerns raised and that we do not listen well enough. We do try our best in this area but obviously we need to do , and intend to do, better.
Partway through 2015-6, we did change our Homework Policy to reflect family demands for homework during the holiday but this remains an area where only 70% felt that the children receive an appropriate amount. The issue of homework is always a difficult one simply because different families have such different views on it. We will continue to listen to your feedback but also to provide homework which we think strike the right balance between quality family life and quality learning opportunities.
9% of people surveyed were concerned about the quality of our school dinners. We have shared the comments with our school cook. Since the start of 2015-6 there have been positive changes with the introduction of the salad bar but we will work with Integra (our providers) to ensure that the dinners we provide strike the right balance between popular and nutritious.
Any comments made by individuals have been included at the end.
